Now where did I leave my sanity...?

I like to think of myself as an organised person. Most people confuse 'organised' with 'tidy', which is something I would definitely NOT call myself! My workroom, my car, my desk, my kitchen drawers, they may look a shambles to the untrained eye, but if you need anything, anything at all from a 2mm drill bit to a melon-baller, I can tell you exactly where in to find it... or, at the very least, where I'm pretty sure I saw it last...

I took Big Red in for a big 'ol service a few weeks ago to get him checked out head to toe (antennae to rubber?) by a specialist 4WD crew just to make sure everything was where it should be. Before dropping him off I cleared all of my gear out just so that the guys wouldn't have to sift through torn maps and dirty underwear if they needed to check something in the back. As a result, there's a big pile of 'junk' in my carport, and I don't know exactly where anything is! I'm heading up to Licola this weekend, and am actually feeling a little stressed because I feel like I don't have enough time to organise all my little bits and pieces. Add to that the fact that I've got a couple of mates crashing in my loungeroom for a fortnight while their show is in town, and I just feel like I'm running around in circles!

Tonight I'm popping down to photograph my friends show, tomorrow I'm planning to head for Yinnar straight after work... so at SOME point in there I'm going to have to pop all my gear back in the car, get everything tied down and sorted ready for a quick trip in the mountains. I guess it's really not all that bad, this IS only a weekend trip after all, so I don't really need all that much stuff, could even get away with just taking my old blue portable camp stove instead of the gas cylinder and all my usual cooking gear.

Okay, once these moochers are off my couch, and this weekend is over, then I'll get on with some CONSTRUCTIVE posts detailing some of the mods I'm doing and work Red is getting done before we head off for a fortnight at the end of next week. I plan to also post up some prospective trip details including maps, waypoints, even geocaches I'm planning to hit along the way. I'm looking forward to it, I'll see you then!

Good thinking - it wouldn't be good for the guys to find different skid marks to what they are accustomed to seeing.

  2. I always make a point of keeping up with our worming tablets for that very reason ;)
